Shareaza for Mac?

Postby gbatman » 27 Jul 2009 11:12

What are we doing about the continually growing number of Mac users? Shareaza for Mac would be great and give the software a bit of an edge over the other P2P programs not supporting Mac and catch up to the ones supporting it. Mac users stereotypically have a lot of good, popular content (media) on their computers as well as having very little malware.

Mac users, there is a lot of them, they are growing in numbers, they would make the network/s better by providing more content and help sell the Shareaza brand.

So is there a Shareaza for OS X planned? And what is to be done about promoting it to Mac users?

running shareaza natively on a mac would require a complete rewrite which would literally take years. try it with darwine or use a virtual machine

I've found a shareaza Mac compatible version on souseforge https://sourceforge.net/projects/shareazax/ but as far as now there aren't installer to download and I think the project is quite closed as a matter of fact the last files on the SCM Repositories are 5 years old.

Sharelin, a G2 client for GNU/Linux and UNIX also works on Mac OS X. It's not Shareaza, of course, but it might be interesting for Mac users.
