Shareaza just ate my entire mp3 collection o_O

I have installed latest shareaza on my toshiba p300 running win7x64, added my music dir as a shared dir. next day when i restarted my system, the whole 30 gigs were gone! Strange: my HD still has the same ammount of free space but the dir is completely emptied.....i am not amused and after 6 years of loyal use this was the end....

Are you sure your MP3 collection is gone? If your free space still shows the same amount, it is possible the shared folder was simply removed from Shareaza's library.

I would try installing WinDirStat to locate your music collection. If you have 30 GB missing, this tool will surely find it if it is still there.

If Shareaza actually deleted them they should be either in the trash can or mostly recoverable with any of the undelete utilities. But more likely they are still there but not accessible or visible. Alternately they might have been moved by some media management application.

nope, thats it, not in trash, not in other folders, nowhere, its all gone, i added the folder on the share list, and while hashing i stopped shareaza and turned of my computer, next morning I turned it on and all gone. Various undelete programs couldnt find ANY trace f ANY mp3 that was in there, it's like the contents of the entire folder never existed.....

This is very strange and I don't think shareaza is to blame for it. shareaza does not move or edit any of your shared files while hashing, it only reads from them.

SOLVED!
My deepest apologies, I found them on my 3rd HD wich has almost exactly the same folder structure. They got mixed up installing a new SSD-HD, So sorry for wasting your time friends, I am glad i can continue using shareaza!
