An unofficial backup in case of disaster is not paranoia but reflexively distrusting old
friends because of the actions of a new one is. What happens if sourceforge loses
that bogus lawsuit because a judge makes a mistake? Suddenly your only "trusted"
site turns out to have been owned by somebody you don't even know and never did.
Preparing for the worst is not paranoia, it's common sense. This is not exactly
duplicating the whole project elsewhere but that would be a really good idea too.
For that, I recommend
Launchpad because the tools are more advanced and also
open source. They are strangers too, but at least there's more than one person
so maybe that would make you more comfortable than dealing with actual friends.
