number of completed uploads of a file?

Hey guys.

in the library I can see files i have avalible for others to download.

My question is: does the upload section under the library mean the number of times a file have been successfully downloaded?

ie: mymovie.mpg 5mb c:\movies\ hits \uploads 0(3)

What do "hits" mean and the 0(3) ? I assume 0= ppl downloading from me now and 3= sucessfull downloads from me?
