Program freezes when attempting to search

So I'm using the 2.5.5.0 and I made a search yesterday, But when I click on the tab for that search the program starts to open the tab but as soon as it opens the tab the program freezes.
I've tried to close the tab but because you must open it to be able to close it the program freezes so it's impossible to close the tab.
I have two tabs in the search part of the program one that I use as an buffer to prevent the program from freezing and the tab in question here that freezes the program every time I click on it.

Anyone that have suggestions of how I can go about to close the tab without re-installing the program?

You should always use the latest version when asking for help. This does simplify our job greatly.

Yeah I know I should use the the latest and I did use the 2.6.0.0 up until two weeks ago but that version had other issues.
for example when I tried to download film clips that was 10-120Mb the 2.6.0.0. the files was only 14-16kb when the download was finished.

But I'll try that latest program you linked to and see how it is.

So now I've tested it for a couple of days, And sadly I must say that it sucks.
I've been running the old Shareaza paralell to the peerproject and when the Shareaza 2.5.5.0 finds over 100 results when I do a search the Peerproject often find none.

So my question now is, what do I need to do to get my download list to work with the old Shareaza?

This is from experience:
Switch to Window Mode.
Close all windows within Shareaza
Minimise to Tray. Disable QuickLaunch.

For me: HighCPU and Freezing is gone.

If you use PeerPoject,too, you have to store your .sd files, using .zip or .rar.
PeerrProject can include, but you can't go back.

Ah, Ok. I did'nt save them only moved them while installing Peerprojekt and then I moved them back.
I guess I'll have to give peerprojekt another chance then.

Moving, copying or storing is equal. But don't overwrite them.
