I have been collecting resources for distribution of many files, with a view to keeping them live and available for as long as possible.
This is a mix of examples, ready to use websites, browser plugins, and bolt together API ideas.
Many users can make immediate use of most of these, and developers (and geeks) will be interested in the rest.
I work with game developers (mostly Unreal engine) and the music industry...

I run a music label for copyright-free music (of the mashup/bootleg kind), so free storage and distribution methods are the only sensible option.

Mapraider2 was launched a few months ago, and I started poking around it (so glad I did).
Many of the major file-stores/archives have changed, closed or are closing (File-Planet, File/GameFront & UT-Files are the most notable), so I wanted to see how reliable it is.

It is the only Gamer site I know that uses Magnet links as standard.
He also allows members to add other known mirrors as they become available.
Nice and organic.

I have been trying to raise peoples awareness to the potentials of mixing networks and protocols, but in this age of Torrents, most people have no idea of what can be done with lateral-thinking and mixing APIs and networks.
I use many other programs that mashup APIs and protocols, so I guess I'm used to it.

Many years ago I suggested there be a way of downloading multiple links for the same file, in one click, but I was told this was not possible (I figured it would be most useful in Shareaza)
Thankfully other people had the same idea and "Metalink" was created (Q.E.D.)
I still think all these years later that Shareaza could benefit from Metalink support. There is no new "network", just parsing the links.
Linux distro sites could make very good use of it.
