Is there a KAD plug-in?

Is there a plug-in that will allow Shareaza to connect to the KAD network? Thanks.

Unfortunately no, there is no such plug-in, and more generally Shareaza cannot connect to Kad.

Although, in theory it should be possible to create a local "server proxy" that looks to Shareaza like a server and does the actual server connection and kad for Shareaza because ED2K allows the UDP/kad port to be different from the one used for file transfers. I think somebody did this for BitTorrent DHT.

No. This is only a theoretical possibility...

A year has passed since the last post, and I see that Shareaza 2.7 is released, does it support KAD?

Shareaza 2.7 hasn't been released yet and the current version does not support KAD...

this is sad, because ed2k shares is quite useless now without kad.

No. But it fixes several eD2k compatibility problems.

I am more concerned that Shareaza has for a while included a KAD secttion for the caches, and includes a button to switch it on and off.

All reference to KAD should be removed or hidden, if there is no working option, then the code is cluttered with a messy extra, and users see a messy extra in the GUI.

If there are no plans to add/fix KAD, then we way as well also have a fake sock-drawer or hat-stand included.

How about changing the KAD button for a PANIC button ?

I just noticed there's a 2.7.1 update, has this version added any KAD support?
