Hoe kan ik alleen geselecteerde bestanden downloaden van een torrent?
Sinds Shareaza v2.4.0.4 r7924 ondersteunt Shareaza het alleen downloaden van geselecteerde bestanden van een batch (= multi file) torrent. Om dit te doen, ga naar download eigenschappen en zet de prioriteit (priority) voor de niet benodigde bestanden op Geen.
NB. : de eigenschappen van de download worden alleen in het contextmenu van de download getoond in de Tabbladstijl.
Hoe kan ik met BitTorrent verbinden?
BitTorrent werkt anders dan de normale p2p netwerken, het is zelfs geen netwerk. Als je een .torrent bestand van een website download, zal het een koppeling naar de tracker bevatten die een zgn. mini-netwerk maakt voor dat bestand. BitTorrent is niet algemeen doorzoekbaar.
Ik zit achter een firewall, kan ik BitTorrent gebruiken?
Dat kan, maar andere gebruikers achter een firewall kunnen niet van jou downloaden waardoor de downloadsnelheden lager zullen zijn. Het is in het algemeen een slecht idee om een P2P cliënt achter een firewall/router te gebruiken die niet geconfigureerd is om de benodigde data te forwarden. Gebruik deze pagina om goed te configureren. Het downloaden kan dan een factor 10 sneller gaan.
Waarom starten mijn downloads niet?
Het torrent bestand kan te oud zijn en niet meer worden ondersteund door de tracker. Zoek dan een ander .torrent bestand. Het kan ook worden veroorzaakt door een beperking op het aantal verbindingen op jouw computer. Als je twijfelt of alles goed werkt, probeer dan eens de verbindingstest.
Waarom gaat mijn percentage van de download soms achteruit?
Let er niet op. Het betekent dat je een verkeerd / beschadigd stuk bestand hebt gekregen, dus dat moet opnieuw worden gedownload. Als je bijvoorbeeld een beschadigd muziekbestand niet op die manier zou herstellen dan kan het afspelen opeens stoppen of je hoort ruis.
Mijn BitTorrent downloads zijn langzaam of werken helemaal niet
BitTorrent werkt het best als je binnenkomende verbindingen kunt toestaan. De meeste mensen die klagen over lage downloadsnelheden hebben problemen met hun port forwarding of hun firewall. Terwijl port forwarding automatisch wordt ingesteld op alle apparaten die het ondersteunen, moeten firewalls meestal handmatig worden ingesteld zodat de binnenkomende TCP (resp. UDP) verbindiing met Shareaza gebeurt op een open poort.

Where can I find files to download with BitTorrent?
You can find .torrent files on web sites. Important .torrent tracker pages are listed on the 
Comparison of BitTorrent sites page on Wikipedia. You can also try a search engine such as Google and search for a keyword like "torrent" or the keyword you are searching for + "torrent". It is also possible to find .torrent files within P2P networks, such as Gnutella2 or the eDonkey network (both supported by Shareaza).
Leave the download in the downloads window to continue sharing it. When you clear it from the window, Shareaza will stop sharing (seeding) the file. You can reseed (= reshare) the BitTorrent file by going to Shareaza's Library Manager and changing to Folder View. Go to the torrents directory that Shareaza has created and double-click the file you wish to reseed. When the dialog box appears, choose to "seed". If Shareaza fails to reseed the file, make sure the files that are part of that torrent are in Shareaza's library. Moving the .torrent file to the parent directory of the files you are trying to seed might be helpful in some cases. Vocabulary/Status and Error Messages
Wat betekent "Choked"?
Choked betekent dat de gebruiker al aan het uploaden is naar vier (standaard) gebruikers.
Wat betekent "Uninterested"?
Uninterested betekent dat zij/jij niet de delen van het bestand hebben/hebt die jij/zij nodig hebt/hebben.
Wat betekent "Tracker Down"?
Dit komt meestal doordat de tracker waar jij op probeert te komen vol is of gestopt is. Het is goed mogelijk dat de tracker weer online komt, dus laat je de download aanstaan.
Connection refused or not authorized
This indicates that the tracker administrators are not allowing it to be used for this torrent. Some trackers will only track torrents that are also posted in their forums/website, for example. Usually this indicates a stale torrent - try going to the web site associated with the tracker and see if you can find an updated torrent.
Dit betekent dat Shareaza niet het standaardprogramma is om .torrent bestanden te openen. Ga naar
Tools > Shareaza instellingen > Algemeen > Internet
en zet het vinkje bij .torrent aan en druk op toepassen.
Go to
Tools > Shareaza Settings... > General > Web
and uncheck the .torrent association box. Hit apply. Now run your BitTorrent program's setup and tell it to take over .torrent files. Note that there will be conflicts in .torrent handling if you do not remove Shareaza from handling .torrents first.
If after doing the above Shareaza is still grabbing torrent links, you can edit the .TORRENT file type directly to open with whatever program you desire. Go to the Folder Options control panel from within the Tools menu of Windows Explorer, and within the file types tab, choose to edit the .TORRENT file type. Go to the open command, and edit it to select whatever program you wish to be the default handler of torrents. Also edit the DDE application for the open command, or turn off DDE.
NOTE: Some users have experienced Shareaza refusing to "uncheck" BitTorrent link handling in the Shareaza settings. The change will not 'take'. In this case, uninstall Shareaza and then run your other BitTorrent application and set it to take BitTorrent links. Verify in the Folder Options that the TORRENT file type's DDE application is not Shareaza, and the default application to open TORRENT links is the one you want. You can then reinstall Shareaza while remembering not to check BitTorrent link handling when the QuickStart Wizard is first run.
