Nelle impostazioni di Gnutella, scegli Modalità: Leaf. Questo abbasserà il numero di connessioni che Shareaza fa.

Imposta la banda di upload

Shareaza supporta la sua comunità e invia alla massima velocità possibile, Tuttavia, a causa di questo, la tua connessione potrebbe superare i limiti, causando velocità per internet molto basse o completamenti assenti. Per risolvere questo problema:

• Avvia Shareaza
• Vai nel pannello Upload (Strumenti > Opzioni di Shareaza > Internet > Upload)
• Clicca nel box Banda e inserisci un valore pari all'85% circa della tua banda in upload. Se non conosci la tua banda in upload, guarda la pagina test di velocità.
• Seleziona Massimo per il modo.
• Riavvia Shareaza.

Per gli utenti di Windows 9x

Windows 95 e 98 usano codice antiquato che gli permette di avere solo 100 connessioni contemporanee - Shareaza può usarne fino a un migliaio o più, a seconda di come è configurato. Questo può portare windows a strani comportamenti come crashare, disconnettersi da internet o bloccarsi. Raccomandiamo fortemente di aggiornare il computer con un più recente e stabile sistema operativo, ma ci rendiamo conto che alcuni utenti non possono. Questa soluzione risolverà i crash ma avrà un effetto negativo sulle prestazioni. Nota: Gli utenti di Windows XP, 2000 e NT sono al sicuro.

• Avvia Shareaza.
• Vai nel pannello Download (Strumenti > Opzioni di Shareaza > Internet > Download)
• Imposta 'Trasferimenti massimi' a '40'
• Imposta 'Trasferimenti per file' a '10"
• Ora vai nel pannello 'eDonkey2000'
• Imposta 'Connessioni al client' a '40'
• Riavvia Shareaza

Utenti possessori di Router

Diversi router supportano un certo numero di connessioni. Se questo numero è superato, smettono di funzionare correttamente. Shareaza usa il maggior numero di connessioni che la tua connessione ad internet può gestire, massimizzando le prestazioni. Ci sono 3 modi per evitare questo:

• Configura il router - Alcuni scelgono pochi router che possono tenere il calore e altri hanno modi differenti (esempio: Gaming Mode - Modalità di gioco) che aumenteranno il numero di connessioni che può gestire. Un buon suggerimento è aggiornare il firmware del router, il che può risolvere molti problemi come questo (guarda il sito web del vostro fornitore per sapere come farlo).
• Aumenta il Connection Throttle dei download - Questa nuova impostazione è stata aggiunta recentemente per impedire sovraccarichi del router. Fa ritardare il tempo di connessione e lo distribuisce sopra un più largo ammontare di tempo. Per cambiarlo, vai su Opzioni di Shareaza > Avanzate e imposta Downloads.ConnectThrottle a 250 ms. Puoi avere bisogno di aumentarlo di molto se continui ad avere problemi, alzandolo a circa 500 ms. Nota: devi essere nella modalità avanzata (Visualizza > Modalità avanzata) per cambiare questa impostazione.
• Prendi un nuovo router - Se stai cercando un motivo per comprare un nuovo router, può essere questo. Un router medio da DLink, Netgear o Linksys sono buone scelte. Ciò è una buona soluzione, ma sarà un problema per il tuo portafoglio.
• Configura Shareaza - Questa è l'opzione più facile, ma avrà un effetto negativo sulle prestazioni.

Configurazione di Shareaza per i router

• In primo luogo, trova il numero massimo delle connessioni che il router può gestire. Non c'è un test per questo, io suggerisco di mettersi in contatto con il fornitore del router per l'informazione. Se non puoi, o non vuoi, dovrai indovinare (255 è una buona valutazione)
• Avvia Shareaza
• Vai nel pannello Download (Strumenti > Opzioni di Shareaza > Internet > Download)
• Imposta i Trasferimenti massimi al 40% delle connessioni massime permesse dal router
• Imposta i Trasferimenti per file alla metà dei Trasferimenti massimi
• Ora vai nel pannello 'eDonkey2000'
• Imposta Connessioni al client al 40% delle connessioni massime permesse dal router
• Riavvia Shareaza

NIC or NIC Drivers may cause Disconnections or Blue Screens

Problems in NIC or NIC drivers are a very common source of blue screens, and can also be a cause of disconnections from the internet. The NIC (Network Interface Card (or Controller) is the hardware device in your PC that connects a DSL or Cable modem to a computer. If you have a Broadband Connection, chances are you have a NIC. If you are unfortunate, your NIC may have trouble handling a certain amount of connections or traffic and collapses under the heavy stress. The result may be a blue screen, or the internet will just stop working until you restart the computer.

To update the drivers, you must first find out the model and manufacturer. You can do this by going into the Control Panel (Start > Control Panel) [Classic Mode for XP users], clicking on system, then going into the device manager from the Hardware tab. The NIC is under the "Network Adapters" tree.  If you have recently updated your NIC drivers (using windows update may do this automatically), try rolling back to an older driver, or using a driver on the windows CD or manufacturer's CD that came with your computer. If you want to update your driver, try the device manufacturer's web site, or the computer manufacturer's website. If you are new to driver updating, and find yourself stuck, go to the 

& Support section of the Shareaza forums and post your situation there. Be sure to include the Information you just collected (NIC Card Name, Operating System, etc.), along with info on your crash and how you've tried to resolve it. A very common culprit is the Netgear FA311, which has been known to fail very often.

Other Solutions

Reset the Bandwidth Monitor: Sometimes people set the slider on the Bandwidth Monitor monitor to "MAX", making Shareaza use a lot of bandwidth. If the monitor window looks red, then it has been set to MAX. The way to fix this is to drag it back a little and set it to its normal setting (100%).
